I just finished writing about our 2-week itinerary in Northern Vietnam, and let’s just say, it was a lot of a text. We are so busy while travelling, that I find it hard to break up my posts and end up garbling on way too long on a single post. So, I decided to write about the food options in Hanoi in a separate post!
But before you read, make sure you check out what we did during our 2-week stint in Vietnam.

Hanoi is the Place for Amazing Food
We loved the food in Hanoi. I truly believe that the food here can satisfy any foodie!
Here are some of my recommendations:
Cheap Eats
Banh My P
Price: 25 000 VND (1.5 CAD/10 SEK) per sandwich
Website: https://www.facebook.com/banhmyP/
The best banh mi in the Old Quarter and it is cheap. We ate here a few times but never took a picture since the sandwich was gone in 2.5 seconds!
Máhn Coffee
Price: 150 000 VND (9 CAF/58 SEK) for 2 sandwiches and 2 egg coffees
The banh mi here wasn’t as good as at Banh My P, but it was still pretty delicious. They also had really yummy egg coffee, which Danne and I both enjoyed! The sandwiches were cheap, but the coffee was quite pricey!
Chinese BBQ
Price: 100 000 VND (6 CAD/39 SEK) for veggies and meat that was enough for 2 people
It is not really easy to find so here is the pin on Google Maps below. It has basically no reviews but it is cheap and tasty. I do wish they had rice (you can order bread if you are down for that) but the grilled veggies and meats were nice. They actually grill them for you, which I like since I get so impatient waiting for my food to cook. Once again, when it is this good, I forget to take pictures!
Not as Cheap Eats
Joma Bakery Café
Price: 150 000 VND (8.5 CAD/58 SEK) for 2 coffees and a huge baked good to share
Website: https://www.joma.biz/
While in Laos, I realized that this is a Canadian-owned company. Hence, the tasty treats. Perfect for coffee and baked goods. I loved that it was Canadian-owned since it really did taste like the baked goods from home. Since they also have locations in Laos, I ended up eating quite a bit of Joma baked goods while on this trip!
L’Amore Ice Cream
Price: 70 000 VND (4CAD/27 SEK) for a good Bun Cha and 25 000 VND (1.5 CAD/10 SEK) for 1 scoop of yummy ice cream
Website: https://www.facebook.com/Lamore.icecream/
They do have really good ice cream, but the Vietnamese food I had here was the best in Hanoi. I recommend their Bun Cha (labelled as rice vermicelli noodle with grilled pork, spring rolls, and fish sauce on the menu) was delightful.
Pizza 4 P’s
Price: 500 000 VND (28 CAD/193 SEK) for a large amazing pizza, an appetizer, and 2 drinks
Website: https://pizza4ps.com/
This place is a bit pricey but amazing. They make their own cheeses so the cheese platter was seriously delightful.
I would totally recommend their pizzas. Daniel declared it was the best pizza that he has had in his life. The service here is really professional. It felt like we were at a restaurant in New York or something!
So, as you can see, I am a big foodie and I really enjoyed the food in Hanoi!
Are there any restaurants that I missed while I was in Hanoi?
xx
